Looks like a very nice 1\4 to near wedge FR. I have a couple of these and they are fine shavers. Mine are fairly hard and take a little more time to hone, but the results are worth the effort. Being a near wedge, the edge will be a less fragile than if it were a full hollow. The date of manufacture is probally before 1891 as only the city and not the country ( England ) is stamped on the shank. Injoy your FR as they are among the top shavers from England. Very Best and Happy Shaving, wildhog

I would say it was manufactured between 1830-1840. With that being said it’s a Beautiful razor being 171 years old.

Are you kidding!? I had no idea this razor would be that old. Do you have any source where I might find some information about these manufacture dates? I'm off to Google!

I would guess closer to the last quarter of that century, but still quite old! Looks like it is in great shape. ENjoy it.

Read the section here for razors produced in 1830-1840 and let me know what you think. I believe if a razor is marked 'The Celebrated Razor' it's more likely it was manufactured between 1830-1840, but again I could be wrong.

Thanks for the link. I'm not sure the inscription is much to go by though, as I have seen later England stamped razors with similar ones "the original and genuine" etc. I was basing my guess more on the blade style and size (the fact that it advertizes being "hollow" ground, the tang, no smile etc.). I am far from an expert though, as I said it was a guess and I could well be wrong.
