Thanked: 0SIGI Gold 94, Wilhelm Boos Jr, Solingen
I saw this razor on one auction today. It costs $91. Can someone help me with any info about this razor? As for me, it looks pretty.

Thanked: 1936Interesting, I shaved with a "The Boos" Toledo, Ohio that I shaved with this morning. I don't know if their is any relation or not. I really like the stamp of the smiths working steel though...
As a side note, I hope you really love that razor as I have only given about half that for any of the old razors I have. I guess I am just too much of a tightwad. I hope it turns out to be a wonderful shaver for you...Southeastern Oklahoma/Northeastern Texas helper. Please don't hesitate to contact me.
Thank you and God Bless, Scott

Well, The price is always accordig to what it is worth to the buyer!! I've given a lot of money for a razor I really wanted, whether it was worth that or not. Didn't matter the cost, I wanted it.
Now, you have to decide if you think it was worth it or not, not us. Personally, I think it is a magnificent razor and deserves to look like it did when it was new. I can tell by looking at your photos that it is in great condition, should clean up nicely and will probably take a great edge in the hands of a honemeister!
The scales look like replacements to me, but I could be wrong there, it is a nice 3 pin setup and I would be proud to own that razor.
I think it is a great find, and the quality is there. I'd bet it is every bit as good as it looks when it comes to shaving with it. Get it sharpened and find out!
Good luck mate!

Thanked: 0mjhamme, you are right - the price is not a key factor for me in this case)
I like this razor and I`m going to buy it anyway. But any info about such purchase are not superfluous for me.

The razor seems all original to me, incl. the scales with the trademark inlay of a bladesmith.
The company still exists at the same adress as in 1939 but probably does not manufacture straigt razors anymore.
Personally I do not have experience whith one of their razors but usually You can´t do wrong in buying an old Solingen Razor as long as the condition is sound. When honed properly I never had one that failed to shave well.
