its a...razor guard thingy...
So I'm sending my razor off to be re-shaped at the tip and honed tomorrow, and I thought "The poor mailman that has this pop through the package." So I thought up a little something to keep my mailman safe.
This took me 5 minutes to make and was basically free. the Snaps are ~$0.30/ea but the leather was scrap. I can already see an inherent design flaw that will be corrected in RazorGuard v2.0 and that is that the blade side has thread. An obviously better solution would be to fold the leather along the blade rather than at the tip.
I give you the RazorGuard 1.0:
The razor does not come out of this sucker.
Mods feel free to move this thread. I dunno where it should go so I put it here.

The ingenuity you see around here is actually quite incredible.
It is easier to fool people than to convince them they have been fooled. Twain

Corrugated cardboard, because it has "give" and can be secured tightly (form-fitting) and yet is soft and forgiving. Packing tape.. or electrical tape for the risk-averse. For open razors with scales simply gently bind closed with a rubber band, better yet roll up in some newspaper and tape closed.
