Thanked: 8Mine has the standard bamboo/rattan stuff woven in a nice pattern and I really like the feel of it. I also think it looks nice. I do like the naked look too but the wraps have great feel.

I bought rattan from that ebay vendor, and I didn't have ant problems at all.
Just pop the desired lenght of rattan into some hot water, let it soak
for a couple of minutes. After some time in the water it is fairly easy to
wrap the rattan around the handle of your kamisori.
The one thing I could have wished for was 1 mm width instead of 1,5 mm.

Mine came already bamboo wrapped, purchased from aframestokyo.com.
You have yourself a beauty there, wrapped or unwrapped.

Un-wrapped. I worry about oxidation,( moisture getting trapped.) Bamboo will breathe a little. Poly cord or wax coated hemp twine can retain even more moisture.

Thanked: 8How does the Purist compare to your Japanese razors? I've been thinking about ordering one of these for some time. Your Takahashi looks fantastic!

My 3 are all unwrapped. I like the KISS principle.
btw that is a 2/8 nose & ear hair razor alongside the Iwasaki not an overhoned razorThe white gleam of swords, not the black ink of books, clears doubts and uncertainties and bleak outlooks.
