Are you talking about one of those vibrating-tip engravers? One of those would be bad news for hardened steel, I'm thinking.

define "on my razor." do you mean on the blade or on the tang? if on the tang, I'd say give it a try on a scrap blade. if its on the blade, my advice would be don't do it.

I would say don't roll the dice on anything good. It would be like trying to engrave your wife's initials on the diamond in her engagement ring, it will be hard as crap to make a scratch in it and if you do you'll probably just mess it up. I personally wouldn't try either one.

So i had the samethought process not to long ago... I looked up engraving aans saw thereis no cheapp way to do it on a blade.. The vibrating dremmel type engravers look like a bad tattoo whe you put them on har steel. There is just no way to hold them steady enough. So i bought some hand grevers like theones used in gun engraving and i think that was like scratching diamonds...it made shallowcuts thatwerehard to control... So now amam looking at the Lyndsey power engraver, that does thework for you but the costis pretty high.. 1800 dollars, or there about.... So good luckon your journey, i hope this will reduce some of the cost that i have endured so far.
