The "Ivy" Super
Well, I'm new here, so perhaps I better introduce myself first :P
My name is Josh, I'm from Australia, and I'm a razorholic LOL!
Well anyway, I recently came to the revelation that, since I switched to a straightie about a year ago, I have become a certified straight razor and vintage barber enthusiast. Drives my fiance up the wall so it's great!
I started with a Wahl disposable razor with an injector system, was good for practice but the disposable blades had protruding corners that made nicks a little too common. So my fiance bought me a vintage straight razor for my birthday, shaves great but the problem is that I know almost nothing about it!
It's roughly 6" long when closed, with a 3" square tip blade. The blade reads 'The "Ivy" Super Magnetic', Ivy Super being the apparent manufacturer of the razor. The scales are made of bakelite and the logo on the shank reads "Ivy" Super and the number 25 on one side and what appears to be a maple leaf abd the word Germany on the other.
Does anybody know anything about the razor or it's manufacturer? Would love to know whenabouts it was made and what fate the makers came to.
Thanks in advance!
Note: moved over from the finer things in life

Welcome to SRP Josh. Be good to that girl. They don't all buy us razors
No info on the Ivy I'm afraid. The white gleam of swords, not the black ink of books, clears doubts and uncertainties and bleak outlooks.

If anyone's interested I found more info. The scales aren't original, as it seems Ivy blades were only forged between 1900 and 1901, predating the bakelite scales which were added 30 years later can't find any more info but seems a real keeper
