Thread: Questions about scales

I used to grill the old barbers about their blades as well about the same time. Yea it may be a replacement set of scales but its very ornate and and its on an older H Boker piece of steel. I saw a lot of barber blades back then and some were different colors but not particularly ornamental. The metal scales, I'm pretty certain are aluminum. I think its to light for pewter and not the type of tarnish or patina that silver would acquire. Both scales are very nice and certainly worth keeping. Thank you very much for your imput. Its fascinating that we really know so little about the razors we collect and so much of it is an educated guess.
