If there is a question about the sharpness of your edge based on your shaves and you are fairly new to straight razors there is a good test to see if the blade is sharp. It's the TPT also known as the thumb pad test. No real skill required here except to not cut yourself. First find a sharp kitchen knife or better yet a DE blade. Just touch the sharp edge with your thumb pad with an up and down motion. Once you get a feel for the sharpness of your knife or better yet, DE do the same test on the razor in question. This test won't tell you how well it will shave, just if it is sharp or not. Something else to consider is if you rolled the edge while stropping or maybe wiping off the lather. There's always a slight chance that the vendor thought he honed the razor but got them mixed up, honed and unhoned, if he was doing a lot of razors in one sitting. Good luck.

Thanks for all of the responses! When I got the razor back I shaved without stropping the first time. It just didn't remove any hair. I'm going to contact the person and see sort of advice he has for me.
