    Default Dovo Model's

    Hi Gang,

I'm fairly new and only have one straight razor and am looking to expand and was thinking about a Dovo. I hear talk about Dovo blades constantly - but have no idea about the different model/years/types that Dovo makes.

I am sure there are countless made over the years - but are there popular ones I should know about.

For example a buddy has this one he offered me for $60, I would love to know the different Dovo models to have a better idea what to look for.

    I currently have 3 dovo's
    6/8 Dovo best (entry level)
    5/8 Ebony silver steel
    6/8 Bismark with red scales

I love dovo's, but I do not like 5/8 full hollow, 1/4 hollow or wedge and we are in business. For some reason I have not been able to get a good shave from a 5/8 full hollow. I keep trying, and failing (but that is the fun part).

I feel that Dovo does 6/8's razors as good as anyone in the current market (aside from customs) and if you get one honed by Lynn, your in for a great experience.

    good luck!

    I have 3 Dovos

    5/8 #41 stainless
    6/8/ Masters
    5/8 Prima Klang (2)

The masters is my favorite but the Prima Klang is a real close second. I like the full hollow but I have a light beard so that may make a difference. I find the lighter my touch the closer shave I can get. I swear with the Prima Klang I can hear each whisker being cut off. I liked the Prima Klang enough I bought a second one on e-bay for $70. It took a little honing but it is now a great shaver.

    murdoc,

I have a 6/8 " Dovo Special (aka "Tortoise"), and it is an excellent shaver

I have not tried the 5/8", but I cannot see any reason why this would not be an excellent shaver too.

    Have fun !

    Best regards

    Russ
