    Default Looking for info

    Hey guys

I just acquired a Keith, Benham & Dezedorf Razor. The blade is embossed with a Crest and the words "THE TRUE APOLLO RING". Handle is dark, probably stained bone. Razor has some rust but no damage. Does anyone know the history or how to set a value?

Keith , Benham & Dezendorf was a hardware dealer located at 96 Wabash Ave., Chicago. They went out of business in June of 1887. Since they were dealers and not manufacturers, your razor was probably made by an anonymous razor maker and stamped with KB&D name for resale. I did find reference to a Wade & Butcher blade stamped with the KD&B logo. Does your blade look something like this?

Welcome to SRP Ghousch. SRP discourages razor valuations in the open forum so please do not ask for us to do that. To 'set' a value you would need to compare it to other items similar to the one in question. The only place I am aware of that could do that is closed auctions on EBay. Keep in mind that value is personal and ever changing.

Thanks Walt. That's it exactly. Mine even has a similar little nick in the end of the blade!

Whoops! My bad! I actually did a ebay advanced search with several variations without much luck. It appears that most offerings for similar items closed without bids.
