Found a rusty razor today
It was in a bag with a DE a SE a steptic pencil and a plastic comb. $15.00 for the bunch so I took it home.
It's a 3/8 hollow point ERNEST JEUNIKER
B LJUBLJANA 8
Now I've been able to determine that Ljubljana is the capital of Slovenia but nothing else. I've had no luck with using the data base to search out anything either.
It's covered with an even layer of rust, there looks to be little to no pits. The scales are broken, heavy wood with large pins. I'm going to attempt to restore this little jewel and use it as my first attempt at honing.
I'll also attempt to document it with pictures.
Nothing ventured, nuthing gained.

Thanked: 443Next, you must find a drunken sailor.

Having served in the Marine Corps I think it will be no problem finding a drunken sailor or two.

First look.
After 15 minutes on a 6 inch wire wheel and 5 minutes with 800 grit wet/dry paper to see what we've got.
And the other side.
It's amazing the pits that a little rust can hide. But we're not going for a show piece here, just a learning experience and a (hopefully) usable razor.

Hot dog, a cheap find! Looks like it'd be a great learning piece. The heel's ground down to the stabilizer, and it looks like it's got a bit of a frown on that half of the blade...nothing that can't be worked around, but definitely something that needs to be recognized before you try honing her.
Making and setting a pair of scales will be a fun learning experience too!
Best of luck!
