Ever heard of a "Dayton's Best"?
Trying to get some info on an old razor I picked up at an antique store. On the display side it says "H E Emrick, Dayton" and the blade has "Dayton's Best" etched in it. The back side has "Made in Germany" on the tang. No other stamps or marks. Does anyone know anything about this razor? I haven't been able to find anything on Google.

No, but I am sure H.E. Emerick was a hardware concern or a barber's supply, who had them made in Germany. No telling who made it, but it should shave well with a good edge if in good shape.
"Don't be stubborn. You are missing out."
I rest my case.

I figured it was some kind of arrangement like that. There's light- moderate hone wear on the spine, but the edge is straight and clean-- no nicks or chips. It's also got some pitting on the face of the blade, but it's up by the spine. I'll sand it out and polish it up, then use it when i learn to hone.
