Thanked: 1g. wostenholm ID
just bought a razor i had been looking for but could not find anything about. i first saw it at a thrift shop, but it was rusted to heck and in really poor condition. I found it on ebay, and it gets here tomorrow
In any case anyone know what year it was made? it seems to have extremely little hone wear, and it looks clean.
still can't find any information on it on this forum or any were on the intranets.

You may not find info on the blade etching but there is tons of info on Wostenholm. They are good shavers. Search SRP for Wostenholm and see what ya get.

The "Sheffield Eng." on the tang should date it between 1891 and 1914. Maybe, of course...
A real nice one, however, congrats!

Thanked: 1I'm guessing you were part of the bidding war. I'm glad you backed off. I really didn't want to pay more and I couldn't find it anywhere else.

Thanked: 1I was hoping to hone this and have a Sunday night shave with it. It was my first hone so I didn't want to butcher this beauty. Anyway I'm sad because I think I suck at honing. I followed all the written guidelines and got a filthy crappy shave. Trying to figure out if it's a crap blade or crap honing. And what the tech piping hairs means.
