    Default Vintage Factory 2nd?

I found this today for a very good price
    Each side of the blade has it's own grind, it's a M V Higgins 6/8, 1/4 hollow

What you have could be a microtome, which is a razor used in laboratories to make thin slices of material to be examined under a microscope.

Is one side a flat grind?

I feel that you have a perfectly normal, older example of makers putting the "bling" on the front side! Polish it up and set a bevel! Nice one! ...get it on..Tom

    That's the plan!!
I've never seen a non-symmetrical grind like this before, so I just had to ask.
Like a few others I thought it could be a micro-tome, but both sides are hollowed

I have to agree with the above, It is not a microtome so just have at it and hone away!

I'll bring it over next time I drop by, it should be polished, scaled and sharp by then!
