Thread: Can anyone tell me about this razor?

Hello all. I am new to straight shaving and just bought a "start up pack" from whipped dog. I cannot wait to get it and finally stop buying all those disposable pieces of junk .

I recently seen this razor and was wondering if anyone could tell me anything about it. I know nothing except it would need a honing and it looks cool haha...

on the blade it says "king razor made in Germany"

Well, it's a full hollow razor with double stabilizer and jimps on top and bottom of the shank. There appears to be little hone wear, though hard to tell from that angle how much and how even it is. Most likely slight sway on the back which was fairly common in the old days, and I consider a good thing. The quality of the grinding work looks good.

It's definitely a razor I'd take a chance on, if I liked its aesthetics, which I actually don't, but you do.
