Any one familliar with the Omega brand of straight razors?
Recently came across an Omega straight razor and was wondering about the history and quality of the brand. Is this the same Omega that makes fine timepieces? Any help is much appreciated.

This Omega from Solingen. This trademark was used by Joseph Feist company. And was in business 1898-1924. Alfred Feist was the operator of this firm. Located at 18 Dolnerstrasse, Solingen.
As I know, the trademark is still used.
I've seen knives made by this company at the beginning of the 20th century, very good steel.Last edited by manah; 10-13-2011 at 02:00 AM.

I had one a while ago. It was Solingen from memory and was a very nice shaver. I wouln't mind getting another one. I dropped the one I had and took a big chunk out of the blade.
