Kinda reminds me of a George W's Pipe Razor... Very unique for a Boker. Did you shave yet?

Boker were a very prolific razor maker and I've seen alot of different models from them but it's the first I've seen with a connection to Manila.

Thanked: 18Hello there,
I think this interesting razor was made by Boker for a store in Manila.
There is a link for some old history of the founder in late 1800.
Frankie Thelma Lewey and Francis Albert Jerrett :Information about Don Mariano Velasco Chua Chengco and note this part in second paragraph :
The grandfather of Felisa Velasco Go was one of the nine sons of Mariano Velasco Chua Chengco, who owned the famous Bazaar Velasco at 8 Calle Nueva near Escolta in Binondo, Manila from the 19th century up to the 1930s, when the Great Depression caused a lot of business to crash.
In spanish Bazaar Velasco is Bazar de Velasco.
Hope this help.Last edited by 100fuegos; 10-17-2011 at 02:41 PM. Reason: correction in link

Yep that was made for a store in manila alright. Many razor manufacturers did this. I have a German Eye razor with Asian Writing on it.

Thanked: 4942I still think the old Bokers are among the very best shavers ever made. Have not met one in decent condition that I have not had a great shave from. Hope this one cleans up and serves you well.
Have fun.

Thanked: 18Hi jeg227, you are welcome and it’s my pleasure.
i think that when any one of us take an old SR, and better if it has been repaired by one self, it is not only this little piece of steel that we hold. It is history.
For me your razor also mean the fall of spanish empire and new times and countries emerging in world history.
So, as Lynn said, have fun and enjoy.
Greetings from down, down south.
