Cotton squares--handy for drying between the scales
Just offering what I hope may be a useful tip (may have already been offered by another member in the past...hard to know):
Before the straight razor addiction set in, during a shopping excursion for cotton balls at the local pharmacy, I instead purchased something I'd not noticed before--cotton "squares," about 1.5" flat squares with a quilted or "batted" texture.
Having since become a straight razor enthusiast, I've discovered that these do-hickeys are perfectly made for dying moisture from between the scales after shaving. Just slip it in between the scales like putting a letter in a mail slot, and run it back and forth a couple of passes to take away the moisture. Very handy. (Just be mindful of the open blade close at hand while you're doing this!)
Hope this is useful... cheers!
Cheers!
