    Post Zebra Razors?

Just wondering if anyone has heard of Zebra brand straight razors before? Any idea of history / quality of steel etc?

I tried searching, but wasn't coming up with anything - apologies if the information is somewhere and I missed it.

    Thanks!

From the info I have gathered, the Zebra brand razors and trade mark, to be from The Gillette Company, Boston, MA 02199.

Alexander Coppel registered the Zebra trademark in Soligen, Germany in 1902. I don't know if this pertains to your particular razor. Some detailed photos would help.

More of a general question than a specific razor. Wondering if they're worth considering if I found one at a decent price. Here's one that recently sold on eBay -

Funny you brought up the Zebra Brand cause I had just been doing some research and an interesting footnote is the guy who started the company originally was a notorious second story man in Bremen specializing in the rich until he got caught. While in prison he learned tool and die and decided when he got out he would start a business and the outfit he wore in prison reminded him of a Zebra so he took that name for the brand and went into the razor business. He wasn't all the successful and eventually sold the company and went back to the old business until he slipped and fell 3 stories right onto the razor he was carrying for protection and that was the end of him.

What?...you say I'm making that up? Har har.
