Christmas is around the corner
Christmas is just around the corner and new razor is at the top of my list. I currently have an AOS Dovo, which I've yet to get a good shave out of, and a Dovo Ebony Silver Steel 5/8. I've got my eye on a TI "Super Gnome" over on Vintage Blades and a Boker from Straight Razor Designs. I've read good reviews about both but I am undecided on which way to go.
Any advice or suggestions from anyone who has experience with these razors would be greatly appreciated.

I've never owned a TI, but I can vouch for Boker.
I strop my razor with my eyes closed.

Thanked: 20If you're asking about the 5/8 King Cutter, it's a very nice razor, but very similar to the Dovo Ebony Silver Steel 5/8 you already have, that is a full-hollow 5/8.
Maybe you might want to go a bit larger and try a 6/8, or a half-hollow instead of full-hollow?

Which one do you have? I've been looking at the 5/8 Tree Brand in Micarta.

It's way out of my price range but have a look at the Dovo The Flowing, absolutely gorgeous razor. In the same $$$ as a Hart.

Thanked: 40Why haven't you got a good shave from your AOS Dovo? Is it dull and need to be honed or is it your technique? I too have an AOS Dovo and have gotten many a close shaves. If it's dull have it honed, if it's technique buying a new razor will not solve the problem.

I don't have one, but on my short list of new razors to own some day is a Hart Steel in 6/8. Might be something to look at....
