Thank you for the compliment!! The are burled maple my good friend Don Belanger made because we have matching eagle razors, and he made matching scales for our eagles. I also have a matching silvertip brush custom made by WillN for me to match to this razor.

Do you consider your razor a full hollow mjhammer?

Hi Slur! Indeed that would be considered a 'full' hollow, not extra ground though. This one is just barely a full, almost closer to a 3/4 hollow, but I believe the intention was to be a full hollow ground. Originally Posted by Slur

My eagle was in really rough shape when I got it. Pits all over, bad rust on the tang. It almost completely wiped out the etching just trying to get thru all the rust and patina. But, she came out really nice, and Don finished it off with those beautiful scales. I really love my eagle, and I don't think I would trade her off for a lot of other high name razors. Not a henckles or a Dovo for sure. I might consider trading it for a huge W&B but that would be about it. I like it better than many of my razors that cost 10 times as much. I got my eagle for 12$ to start with and now she's valued over 100. They are great shavers and wonderful collectors.
I know of at least 3 brandings of the Eagles. 1 had no branding at all, like yours, mine is a Dixon and Don's was a J,B & H (or something really close to that, my memory sucks).
Anyway, I love mine. It's not near as nice as your is either!!! Keep that baby nice and she will serve you well for a long time!!
