    Default Picking the collective brain...

Does anyone recognize this? I picked it cheap last week, nicely done, quality finishing, bakelite scales. Very hard steel, honed with a "New York" feel. No tang markings at all, and I don't get the significance of the three stars on the blade.

Any input, serious or not, would be appreciated.

Often times no marking as to maker or origin is not a good sign as to quality however, not always, and if the razor gives you a good shave, holds the edge and hones up well you know it's quality.

Assuming it's a quality piece, my guess is it was made for some retailer by some generic maker and there's probably some significance to the stars. That's what you have to figure out.

Should be a clear night here, maybe I'll stare up at the heavens and look for those 3 stars.

There are three stars in Orion's belt (I think) . I wonder if there was an Orion Cutlery Co. .

It's a communist razor, they've skipped on the hammer and the sickle in order to infiltrate easier the capitalist market.

I think it was dumped by a 3 Star General who had moved up in grade.
