Picking the collective brain...
Does anyone recognize this? I picked it cheap last week, nicely done, quality finishing, bakelite scales. Very hard steel, honed with a "New York" feel. No tang markings at all, and I don't get the significance of the three stars on the blade.
Any input, serious or not, would be appreciated.Don't get hung up on hanging hairs.

Often times no marking as to maker or origin is not a good sign as to quality however, not always, and if the razor gives you a good shave, holds the edge and hones up well you know it's quality.
Assuming it's a quality piece, my guess is it was made for some retailer by some generic maker and there's probably some significance to the stars. That's what you have to figure out.No matter how many men you kill you can't kill your successor-Emperor Nero

Dave5225 writes "Yes , it's a straight razor (sorry stimpy , I had to say it) . Sorry I can't help you out with the history , but it looks like a great find !" Well. I asked for it. That's the sort of keen observation I was searching for.

There are three stars in Orion's belt (I think) . I wonder if there was an Orion Cutlery Co. .

It's a communist razor, they've skipped on the hammer and the sickle in order to infiltrate easier the capitalist market.
