I have the Hart 7/8 Polished Square Point in my sights and I am considering the Pearlex, White or Maple scales. Classicshaving.com gives you a choice when you order; however, several are on back order.
Does anyone have these scales and what do you think? Any pics?

Thanked: 0Did you get your new razor? I'm interested to see what you think of it.
About a month ago, I got a Hart Steel 7/8, Polished, Square Point with cocobolo scales. I'm still fairly new to straight razors (4 months in), so I'm just comparing it to a couple 5/8 Dovos, but I really really like my Hart Steel razor. It was my first Square Point so that required a little extra attention.
The only thing that didn't quite meet up to my expectations was the scales. They just seem like they needed a little bit more refinement. They are cheap to replace, so I think I might try some of the other scales they offer.Last edited by Yama86; 11-17-2011 at 07:38 PM.

My 7/8 Hart came from Classic Shaving ready to shave. No need to worry about it being ready to go, you'll just need to figure out what to do with your other razors.

Thanked: 0Classic Shaving and Hart Steel are working together on the venture. I don't know the nitty-gritty details but it suffices to say that is the normal transaction course. There's a neat little article on the Hart Steel website under their "News" tab. It has a link to a nice article by Chris Moss where he says:
"Classic Shaving have announced their new line of straight razors, sold under the Hart Steel name. These are made in conjunction with one of the most respected custom manufacturers of straight razors and knives in the USA, who has trained his co-workers in the arts of razor grinding and honing."
So you don't need to worry that Classic Shaving will damage the honing that Hart performs.
