It's Here!!!!!
I have just received my first straight and am so happy, to bad I now have to send it out to be honed. So what do y'all think of my little piece of German steel?

To late RAD has struck. Antique store by the house has about four that will be picked up on pay day, and I am a few into my DE collection. I am just so upset that I need to get them honed, just hate to wait to use them.

Very nice Chem! I have old eyes; what is the brand?

It's a Zaliel Jassiano. I am not sure about the age or how good the brand is considered but saw that it was marked Solingen and decided it was a good first razor.

Welcome to the forum. You will not regret sending your first razor out to be honed. It will let you experience exactly what a well honed razor should shave like. It's a great starting point which if you enjoy can lead to lifelong aquisition disorders! Enjoy, you have some good German steel in your hands. Let us know how things are moving along for you.

Anybody have a suggestion of who I should send it to for honing? I would like someone who not only does an excellent job but also is relatively quick with the return. I was thinking either Lynn at SRD or Larry at Whipped Dog.

There are some well known gentlemen on this forum who offer honing services. I have a few razors that have been honed by 3 different members here and I was happy with all of them, so I think you'll be happy with who ever you choose. Check out member services in the classifieds and PM a few to get time estimates.
