Thanked: 0Trying to date an antique Clauss
I have a Clauss straight razor. The blade says "Keckonen HDWE.CO."
The company name says "Clauss Fremont.O 6802"
The appears to be a pre-1918 straight razor, but I have been unable to get more specific than that. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry about that. Here is the best picture I have, with the box.

The photo is not clear, but this might help.

This post has all the information I've been able to glean about Clauss blades, at least in the general timeframe.
Though your picture is very blurry, it looks like the blade shape and style is fairly similar to the razor I posted about.
My strong suspicion is that the numbering stamps suggest a later manufacturing date (two of the three Clauss blades I have are numberless, but one has a MOP tang).
Also, the Keckonen Hardware store was not incorporated until 1905, so the razor post-dates that.Last edited by Voidmonster; 11-11-2011 at 01:29 AM.
