Thanked: 0short razor recommendations
Hi there,
I started about a month ago, got TI 5/8" Le Thiernois and 5/8" Dovo from Fendrihan.
I'm doing all three cuts well enough to not cut myself. However, there is a small area in my neck on each side of Adam's apple that is not flat and the hair grows from AA towards each ear.
It is very hard for me to shave this area ATG, even XTG is a challenge with either of my razors.
Is there a shorter and smaller razor out there? Any recommendations would be very appreciated.
Thanks,
Peter

There are smaller razors out there, keep an eye on the classifieds. Meanwhile, see what you can do with skin stretching, ie think of a way of making those hollows into flat planes. I find if I stretch below the area towards a line straight down from the ear that it works. Don't know if this will work for you but you can probably find a solution with the razors that you have. Good luck and I hope this helps.

As above, there are shorter razors out there & sometimes their names indicate size. The 'Liliput' by CF Ern is 2' long but they are not common. Or you can make your own from a razor with a broken tip but the stretching thing & an uber sharp razor can help a lot too.
Also a DE is the easiest solution for the pass you want to do.
BTW don't count on a Dubl Duck Dwarf being short. My one was full size , 2.75"The white gleam of swords, not the black ink of books, clears doubts and uncertainties and bleak outlooks.

Put in a request for a repaired razor in the classifieds, Not many people try selling the cut downs/repairs because not many want them. By requesting them there you may shake some loose.
My cut down W&B is in rotation now and it shaves quite well

There are some vids of Barbers giving lessons on shaving others. The one I say talks about shaving around the Adam's Apple by stretching the skin to one side, shave the flat area then stretch to the other side and shave there. You'll have to search for the vid. If you don't find it on SRP try Youtube. Give that a try.

The Case/Genco Safedge's have shorther blades as well as the ones mentioned above. Also +1 on proper stretching.

Thanked: 0Thanks guys.
I tried stretching, pushing skin below AA, about 1" to the left and right, and I managed to shave that trouble area pretty close.
Next is to learn how to do XTG (left to right) on the neck in this area. Now, after 3 days since my last "closest shaving yet", I still look like I just shaved.

ATG is tricky.
Most of the time for me WTG and XTG suffices I guess?
