Default H Boker Red Injun 101 question

    Hey guys,

A while back I got hold of a Red Injun 101, I have finally got round to cleaning it up and I noticed on the inside of the scales the number 274 stamped, can anyone tell me what this number is for, it seemed a little strange to me to have the number hidden away like that.

I've found a lot of razors from many different makers have numbers hidden away within the scales. I'm pretty sure they are just part numbers denoting the particular style or the mold from which they were struck.

    +1 with EisenFaust

They will change sometimes with the size of the razor too, like the 5/8 size razor will have one number and the same maker/model in 6/8 has another, so I am also on board with "Part Number" theory

It's a number used to identify the mold , that the scales were formed in .

Thanks guys, I was thinking a mold stamp was likely but thought I would draw on your expertise. Thanks for all the replies.

I was lucky enough to find one of these in beautiful condition. A 5/8 101RP with black scales and the Boker tree logo on one scale. I just took a look and inside the scales are stamped 254. It gives a nice shave BTW.

I have read a few posts on this subject and had never seen anything along those lines until the last three razors I unpinned and, low and behold, they all had 'part numbers' on the scales - go figure.

I have one just like yours, 5/8" and same scales, and it is also stamped 254.

    Love that razor!

Just took another look it's 254 on mine not 274, opps sorry for mis-info.

Mine is the black handled one with the tree on it too. Sadly my scales are cracked by the pin. Oh well maybe one day I'll find a new set of scales for it, someone out there will have one of these with a broken blade, I just need to find them lol
