R.A. Herder – 6/8 – Full Hollow – Solingen
Does anybody know anything about this razor?
I bought it a few days ago and it arrived today.
The only thing I know is that it is a Solingen. But I know nothing regarding the smith (Herder) and the date of manufacture.
Does anybody here own a similar razor? Would you consider it a good shaver?
It is 6/8 full hollow. Engraved in the blade you can see:
“RICH.ABR. HERDER” a “star” and number “85”.
There is a lot of work to do in order to fix it. The edge must be completely renewed. However, it is challenging and I will try to correct it.
Every opinion is welcome.

I cleaned it up the best I could.
After deep honing, starting from 220 to get away micro chips seen with the loops, today I shave-tested and it was really deep and smooth.
I am very satisfied with this razor.
