    Default dubl duck satin baby

Im not having much luck finding info on this particular razor.

I recently inherited an old dubl duck satin baby in fair condition. the only problem with it is that the blades all rusted up and needs a good thorough refinishing. the scales are also in good shape with general aging. and a green patina on the metal fittings. although I don't know much about using straights yet I would love to find out some info on this particular razor. any help would be apprecitated.

Welcome to SRP. If you can post some pictures it would help our members give some information. Metal polish on the brass inlays on the scales (handles) will bring them back to life and remove the tarnish. If your razor is a hollow grind, very thin for most of the blade height, there isn't much that can be done to remove the rest because there isn't much metal to remove. I usually scrape rust off with a hardware store single edge razor blade, the type used in box cutters. Some metal polish like Maas or Semichrome will give a further cleaning. If you post some pictures we may be able to tell if you can do anything else. As for information on the razor I expect other members may come along that can assist.

I'll try to get some up in the next day or 2. I will hopefully gain some insight from other users. I'd like to learn the art of using a straight razor. I think its about time lol. I'm tired of shelling out my hard earned money on disposables. seems like a big waste to me. I'm looking into getting myself a dovo as a chrismas present for myself. If Im gonna do it I'm gonna do it right.

The SatinBaby is a smaller version of the SatinEdge, DD made a few of these smaller razors
