New Razor Ideas?
Hello all, and welcome to my whole second post here. I've been lurking away for the most part, but it's time for me to actually ask a question. Well, I'm about two months in to straight shaving, staying loyal to my 5/8 TI Super Gnome. I'm getting good shaves, but I think it's about the right time to shop around for another razor, and I'd like some opinions.
Since TI steel is pretty stiff (especially because I've got a 1/2 hollow grind), I'm looking for something more flexible. With that in mind, I've been browsing around the revisor web site for a while, and I've got some options that I'm considering. All of the below are 5/8 and full hollow ground, and all hover around about the same price point. Note that I'm not as interested in looks as performance, although if all of the below have the same attributes then I've already got my mind made up as to which one to get (not telling yet though ).
First up is a Revisor (as far as I know all of the 5/8 styles have the same blade). I've heard they take great edges, although some say that they take a little work on the hones to get right.
5/8
Second is a NOS Schulze. Once again, I've heard that these vintage german blades take great edges. Not sure what the comparison would be in terms of vintage steel or new revisor steel.
Schulze Messer
A NOS Red Imp, manufactured by Morris in germany. I'm assuming it would be the same quality as a schulze, but if anyone knows differently, I'd love the opinion.
Messer der Woche
Last, a NOS Rex, made from Swedish steel in eskiltuna. I know that it's a harder steel than your run of the mill straight, but it's also been said that it takes and keeps a great edge for a while. If anyone can compare the stiffness of a full-hollow swedish steel with a half hollow c135 razor that would be fantastic.

What are your thoughts, gentlemen?

Thanked: 13247First off that isn't an NOS Red Imp, the blade is beautiful and they are fantastic shavers, but that isn't NOS those aren't Red Imp scales...
The Schulze looks good and is a good shaver
the Revisor is a known quantity
The Rex also is a good razor
Basically you have 4 good razors at around the same price point,, what coin are you going to use for the flip

A good choice would be the Schulze or the Revisor.
