    Default Name That Razor

    Hey Folks,

I was hoping for some help to ID a razor that I picked up some time back at auction. There were several razors in a box and I managed to pick them up reasonably priced.

The one that I am asking about has been laying around until recently when I honed it up and started to use it. To my surprise it shaved extremely well and I was so impressed that I wondered about it's manufacture.

It has the old bamboo pattern molded celluloid scales which are nothing special. The blade is a 3/4" square point etched clearly with a figure and "Our Chief" logo and decorative banner. The shank/tang is stamped A. Weber Co. on the front and Germany on the back. (pics below) The one mark that escaped my attention was out on the end of the tang. At first glance I thought it was pitting from neglected rust, but after closer examination it appears to be a tree.

Now since Boker uses a tree logo I was wondering if perhaps this was manufactured by Boker for someone else and marked that way. I know that many variations are possible in the making of straight razors and I was just asking if someone had ever seen this type of marking on a Boker made razor.

I'm sure glad I shaved with this razor before I sold/traded it off. It has become one of my favorites. Thanks for taking the time to look. Any thoughts are appreciated.

    Bill

The tree on the tail is the Boker symbol so the razor was made by Boker for the com[any stamped on the shank. I have an old Robeson with the same tree stamp on the tail. The vintage Boker's are great shavers. Boker is once again selling razors but I haven't used one of the new ones yet.
