    Default Crown & Sword razors

    Hi,

Does anyone have an opinion on the crown & sword razors? Any history on the maker?

I've had a search here & in the reviews and I'm just trying to find out where they fit?

Looking at one to join my 5/8 full hollow dovo..

    bob,

IIRC they were made by Freidr Ern in Wald. Solingen.

I love my crown & swords. I have two in my rotation and hope to get more.
I'm a sucker for a stamped tail. Giggity.

I have had 3 or 4 in the past and just came across one recently. I think I may keep this one since its in the best condition of any I've had.

Yes, they are fine shavers, got a real smooth shave with mine last evening.

Oh, BTW, here are pics of one I cleaned up and rescaled for my uncle.

I bought a Crown & Sword from England on the Bay. It arrived a few nights ago. It's a 7/8 and I am looking forward to shaving with it after I hone it. The handle has a raised crown/sword emblem on it. I will let you know the results.

I have one C&S that is a very smooth shave. I recently sent it off to Gssixgun to refurbish.

The white gleam of swords, not the black ink of books, clears doubts and uncertainties and bleak outlooks.

'Just finished honing up a fleabay special - a heavily worn and abused C&S. Its a 1/4 grind. I don't know if all of the C&S models are. 'Was alot of work to massage the abuse into a shavable razor, but it seems quite nice.

I've only seen the ones stamped 'extra hollow ground'

Necroposting this thread instead of needlessly opening a new one...

I've put my name on a Crown & Sword that Val is working on right now...full hollow, around 13/16-7/8 with a round point. Thinking of having him do the scales in translucent blue acrylic with a toxic green kirinite wedge.
