Thanked: 0Razor stamped with ACME trademark, H.Greenberg, Solingen
Bold ACME logo in red on yellow plastic (perhaps Bakelite) scales. I'll take a picture later and send if anyone is interested. Looks like it could be from the 1950s or so. Found it at an antique store, planning to clean up and hone (just ordered a Norton 4000/8000 from SRD, will be my very first honing). Can't seem to find anything about the history of this brand of razor. I imagine it was forged in Solingen and assembled/distributed by an American company. I'm curious about the history of this razor...anyone konw anything?

These were frequently sold to hapless coyotes who used them to shave their bodies completely in order to attain the high speeds necessary for roadrunner hunting. Low production, very high quality.
Perhaps some serious person will provide you with actual useful information.Don't get hung up on hanging hairs.

Thanked: 0So far, my research is leading me to surmise that the blade was made by the H. Greenberg company in Solingen for Sears Roebuck which sold various items under the Acme trademark. Can't confirm any of this... Welcome any ideas!

WOW! That thing just screams Wiley Coyote! I suppose Sears was probably a big dealer. Somebody had to keep sending those crates!..NICE!
"Don't be stubborn. You are missing out."
I rest my case.

Here's another one, glad bsarvet's mentions the company that made it, because mine doesn't.
It's prettier though
