Anyone ever hear of an 'Envede' razor?
A friend picked up some razors at garage sales yest, and I bought the results. In the group was one very handsome 6/8 shoulderless, thumbnotched razor (with scales cracked through at the pivot - sigh). The only stamping on the shank is just he name 'Envede'. 'No other markings at all. 'Not being able to find anything w/ a search, I was seeing if it rang out when the edge end of the toe was plucked w/ a thumbnail. Rings out just fine (gross indicator of the hardening/tempering). 'Sounds like a Soligen.
Has anyone heard of these? Know anything about them?
Before doing the work to make scales, will hone up to confirm its worth the work. If so, its a really handsome and comfortable razor to hold for my size XL hands.
Many Thanks, Gents.

In light of the overwhelming response, I'll post some impressions of it so far.
With the crack running through the pivot, I want to explore the shaving potential before spending all the time making scales. (I'm too slow at it to enjoy it). It took a bevel very quickly, and responded well to each stone. This one WANTS to take an edge - a favorite attribute for me. 'Finished it and this evening was the shave. I can only describe it as feeling the same as a quality Soligen 6/8 hollow/extra hollow. The shave was comparable to the larger Wackers (except this one is flat and straight!). For giggles, I measured the blade thickness 1/8 above the edge. It came in right at .010" - same as the Duck Wonderedges, Special#1 and Dwarf.
I still know nothing about the maker, country, etc, but the ergos are fabulous for my size XL hands, it loves the stones, and mostly, it loves my face. This one's a keeper whether or not its a gucci name.

Sorry I can't help in the least with the name. What I wanted to comment on was the name aspect. Being relatively new to the game (10 mo), I always enjoy reading when a no name razor turns out to be a fantastic shaver. Especially reading about how great shavers wackers, filarmonicas and other brands that I probably will never be able to afford are.
I'm a sucker for a stamped tail. Giggity.
