On new to me razors I use Barbicide. After the initial cleaning just use tap water. I have a Barbicide jar on the sink and every once in a while I'll give them a short dunking but nothing scheduled.

99% alcohol after every shave with a square of TP, mostly to remove the soap scum and dry the blade rather than to sterilize...as far as I know, I'm the only one using them!

'Sterilization' is accomplished most readily in soaking in glutaraldehyde overnight or by autoclave. 'Disinfecting' can be accomplished by wiping it off with alcohol. Sterilization is out of the reach of most people and would in many cases destroy your razor. Disinfecting the razor is easy enough and since you're the only person to use it, there isn't really a reason to do that either...I just clean the razor after use and put it away. After two years of shaving with old razors for several years, I have yet to catch a single bug as evidenced through a blood screen completed a couple months ago.
    You are right red96ta,
sterilisation is usually only possible in hospitals, dentist clinics etc.
I disinfect newly acquired razors with 96% alcohol used on patients before they are given an injection for example.

No need to sterilize the blade unless you are extremely worried about bacteria, but that is extremely unlikely.
Rinse under hot water, wipe dry and store. You should not have any problems. Jarrod at Superior Shave has some sleeves that wisk away water from the razors. They seem to work very well.
    Good luck.
