Thanked: 2Crown Cutlery Co. New York New York
Picked up a sight half seen from whipped dog. It's a Crown Cutlery Co New York, New York 11/16 full hollow.
I wanted to know if anyone knew anything about this company. I know there were many Crown Cutlery Companies, but I can't find anything about one based on NY that made proper shaving razors.

According to Goins Encyclopedia of Cutlery Markings they were in New York between 1900-1930. That's all the info in that book. At least you have a timeframe?

I don't have any history for you, but I just picked one up not too long ago. Fantastic shaver, as most American razors are.

Crown Cutlery Co., located in New York. It was a wholesale company, they were not makers.
Crown Cutlery Co., New York - 1916-1919
Crown Cutlery Co., Germany - 1910s-1920s
Crown Cutlery Co., Austria - 1910s-1920s.
P.S. My personal opinion, that Crown Cutlery Co. and Crown Razor Co. are the same company. But I can't prove it now.Last edited by manah; 01-07-2012 at 07:51 PM.
