    Default Vintage Stainless?

    Gentlemen-
Not sure if "vintage" is the right word - Does vintage refer to razors of a certain age or any razor made by a company that no longer makes razors? Anyway, what makers have produced stainless steel razors? Other than the modern models I am familiar with, the only stainless models I see are the Henckels, notably the Friodur. This is, of course, from my limited and still somewhat uneducated point of view. So - any vintage stainless steel razors worth having other than the Henckels?

Thanks a lot for all replies - Gags

The Hess stainless steel razors are supposed to be among the best of vintage stainless razors.

Were the stainless models labeled/stamped as such or were all Hess razors stainless, and therefore not marked "Stainless" or "INOX"?

I think all of the Hess razors are stainless but I might be mistaken.

Dovo, Puma, DD, and CMON have stainless/INOX models.

You can see pics of various stainless razors here...

I was mistaken. Hess had carbon steel razors as well as the stainless ones.

Dubl Duck had a stainless model in their Pearlduck line. They had fancy scales marked Stainless and the blades are marked Dubl Duck Stainless Steel on the face tang and Pearlduck Dubl duck on the back tang. Great shaver by the way. Very Best, John

I have a newer Dovo that is stainless. It's a fabulous shaver and seems to stay sharp forever. I still love my old carbon razors but this one is great, IMO:
