Max Otte lucky find.
I like think I had a lucky find with this razor, while looking at a razor on Ebay I enquired to ask the seller as one does, would he except a buy now on another razor not the one i'm about to show you, he replied and told me no he was going to let it run and dont worry as he had a large collection of vintage mint condition straight razors, well i watched and waited didn't see anymore comming up so i contacted him and gave him my private E-mail address, well he got back in contact and told me he wasn't going to sell anymore on ebay because they were not fetching any money, fair enough, I asked him could he send me some photo's of his collection and if I liked any I would make him a offer, well fair play he did, not great photo's but photo's none the less, well there were some nice razors there but one square point caught my eye, a Max Otte Soligen cutlery company? Never heard of them but the razor looked really nice, any way made him a offer razor arrives very very pleased, I did have to replace the pins and new washers, but the razor was in super condition overall, so I suppose you would like to see her.

Highly sweet, just shows that sometimes you just need to take that extra step.

Thanked: 247I wonder if Max Otte was one of the guys in Beckher-Otte? I've got a Becker Otte that is a super shaver! Truly a great find you got there I think.

Well I honed up the Max Otte this morning using the Lynn Abrams method the same as Glen uses to set the bevel, took it up through the stones finished on the 12000 stone, hone stropped ready to shave passed the HHT test with flying colours, along with four other razors I was honing, looks like this razor could be a sweet shaver will give her a run out in the week.
