Thanked: 21My collection is complete!!!
...Complete, except for a massive George Savage chopper, and the same with Marshes and Shephard. I've bought everything else I could possibly want in the razor department, and these are the missing treasures...
SO, if any of you fine fellows knows where to "get" one, I will be eternally grateful
Oh, the collection includes at least 1 pristine example of the following, usually 2 or 3, in a big wedge-grind most likely:
John Barber
Thomas Turner
Mappin Brothers
Joseph Rodgers
George Wostenholm
W. Greaves
Dovo
Dubl Duck
Wm. Jackson
MJ. Higgins
Wade and Butcher
Joseph Smith
Frederick Reynolds
Brittain, Wilkinson & Brownell (GB Anchor)
Don't even suggest any of the hollow ground solingens, I'm just not a huge fan

I have one of the big 8/8 Marshes and Shepherd wedges from the 40s that I am thinking of selling. Still going back and forth on whether I want to keep her, but if you want, I'll let you know if I decide to put it up on eBay.

Halsted Makes some big sheffield choppers. I have a Jackson & Son's Chopper that is 11/8. It is a hollow ground razor though. It is an incredible shaver

They are similar. The blade says, "The Celebrated.Hollow Ground Razor. Set Ready For Use." The tang has a masonic symbol. It says, "WM Jackson & Sons. Sheaf Island Works. Sheffield."
Beautiful looking razor you have there!
Wilton also makes some massive sheffield choppers. I sold mine. It was an 8/8 wedge that was extremely heavy. It was the heaviest razor I've ever held. I sold it to someone here last summer.Last edited by jcsixx; 02-01-2012 at 11:50 PM.
