Early swiss frameback

Hi all, I just got this J Lecoultre frameback, it comes with 3 blades. Is this like a Feather (you use them and throw them away) or you can actually hone these? If it's like a Feather, it will be more like a collectible (vs. a user) and I will be selling it. If it can be honed, I plan to hone and test shave.

The blades are to be honed just like a regular straight razor but you might find it a bit of a challange due to the shape of the blade.

This is a honeable blade. The extra blades are a convenience.

This is what I hoped for (there is some wear on the spine), minus the challenge to hone. I have been working several smiling wedges and framebacks for a while now. They'll get there... eventually

I've got one similar to that, only it's a Wade and Butcher, I believe. Also, it has no replacement blades; and even if it did, I think changing them would be tricky. I tried to remove the blade using a pair of vice grips and it wouldn't even budge.

I've never used the thing and probably never will, if anyone's interested in purchasing it. If I ever decide to get a frameback, it'll be one of the solid-bladed ones. Some are pretty stylish.

One good thing going for this JL frameback is the substantial tang with jimps on bottom. Some of my other framebacks have thin tangs and no jimps and grip in use might not be as comfortable

I love the fact that it has 2 spares. Just don't forget to tape up the spine when you hone it.

I've got one of these in oustanding condition, IOB, with 4 blades. I like it a lot.
