Thanked: 0H.Eicke & sohne - heartring
Hi everyone.
I'm new to this forum so please bare with me.
I've bought my first straightrazor kit a couple of weeks ago, and it all works fine. First I went home to my parents looking for my dad's old razor, which I knew he had in a drawer somewhere. I couldn't find it, so I bought a knew one, which I don't regret.
Now I found that old razor, dull as a... whatever. It's a H.Eicke & sohne "heartring" from Solingen. I have no doubts that this is a great razor, that's not what my question is about. My question is about a number on the tang, right between the shoulder and the modelname "heartring". On my razor, the number is 149 and I have seen some heartring models where it says 151, 152 etc.
Can anyone tell me about this number? I've tried to use the searchengine on this site, but no luck.

Probably just the model number. If a catalog for that manufacturer exists...manah or another member here may have it.

Welcome to SRP.
H. Eicker & Söhne is an old Solingen company.
They're in business since 1875 till present day.
Here the website:
Fa. Eicker - Solingen / Scheren bester Qualität
The numbers on the tang are the model/catalog number.
I had two "216" razors.

Only one way to date them correctly is to find the original company catalog.
But as I know, the H. Eicker & Söhne company used trademarks "Biedermeier", "Eicker", "Rekel'.
Trademarks "Heartring-stosser", "Heartring" and "PAX" were added in 1960s.Alex Ts.
