Maybe not original scales, it's hard to believe they would survive so nicely while the blade turns black, but they look old and the shape is certainly period-correct. Give them a little love.
Don't get hung up on hanging hairs.

Oh boy are you in for a treat when that bad boys cleaned and honed up. Nothing like a wedge to plow through the old beard. You'll be tired but that razors going to want more. Just keep an eye on it when you get done shaving, it'll probably hop off the counter looking for somebody else to shave.

Thanked: 0Awesome my old beard is getting pretty old and grizzled. I'm really looking forward to trying out a wedge. I am starting to get a stack of razors lined up to hone, I think it is likely to be one of my first in line
