Default my new Mappin & Webb

    Hello gentleman,

This is my new razor I bought today for 15 bucks. It is a Mappin & Webb "trustworthy". It was coated in an oil and protected really nicely. There is a small crack on the handle but it is in top notch shape IMO. I brought it home and cleaned it up and got it all honed and stropped. very very sharp and even has that "fi-ting" noise.

As a beginner I wanted to get some help on some things with this nice new tool of mine. I don't want to hurt this blade.

I wanted to get an estimated date of production and more info on this blade also.
    below are pics.

Nice !. I love M&W razors. The crack will probably be alright since it is in the wedge end. Good luck with it.

I'm a big fan of Mappin and Webb straights. The scales look to be ivory so $15 is an absolute bargain.

I hope, you'll find there some interesting reading about the history of the great company.

I got one very similar to the 1st one of Manah's pics. About half hollow, sharpest razor I have. So sharp I cannot use it every day.

Hi Manah, That looks like the set that is in Lynn's DVD. Is it? Thanks, John

I don't think so. I didn't see the Lynn's set, but this one I met in such condition:
