    Default Bow razor

I have an old razor that I acquired that has no identifying marks other than a bow(as in bow and arrow) on the tang. Is this a Wade and Butcher razor or did other manufacturers also use this symbol on their blades? Hope this hasn't been covered before. Thanks in advance for any help.

I believe that is only found on Wade & Butcher's.....although I could be wrong. Here's a picture of what you may be looking for: http://straightrazorpalace.com/razor...cher-shop.html

It's on the first page. Just scroll down and you may find your very razor.

Thanks very much! That's exactly the emblem I have on mine. I got this razor in a cigar box with about eight others at a local antique shop. Most were a bit rusty or damaged but I salvaged this one and several others-total cost-20 dollars!

I have a W&B Bow razor. The Bow is deeply stamped, the W&B logo on the other side is much lighter like it was chemical etched. The logo may have been buffed off by someone.

As mentioned it is probably a W&B Bow razor. I own one that I believe is a half hollow. It is really the only W&B that I've decided to keep in my personal rotation as having shaved with a number of them, I like the size and grind of these best. It actually was one of my first straights that I sold stupidly, only to pick another up recently as I didn't know I was getting rid of a very good one at the time.

Thanks everyone! Glad to know this is another W&B. I have several others and they have become my favorites in my rotation. I wish I could post pics, (Interweb illiterate) I'm pretty proud of the collection I've gotten together in the last few months. Not many of the local antique dealers here in northern New York seem to know the value of these old shavers. I've picked up most of them for just a few dollars. When this latest batch showed a couple of W&B's, I felt like I'd located lost treasure.
