Thanked: 2Identification Assistance
I don't yet have any pictures (my camera stinks), besides, you likely wouldn't be able to make out any more (from the inscription) than I could.
I have a half hollow, Spanish point, 6/8 razor with ebony scales and a stumpy monkey tail. There's a bit of red rust that I'm looking forward to cleaning off in a couple days around the markings on the tang, but I'm not confident I would be able to get any more info from it.
Looks like it says (asterisks are unknown letters):
WUS**N*UL*
Hopefully I can clean it up a bit in the next couple days and maybe get some pictures. That's all I have for now.
Any help is appreciated.

Thanked: 2That was my first guess, but it definitely appears to be a well-defined "U" and not an "O"
I would love it to be a Wostenholm, especially if it's a George Wostenholm. That would make it the oldest razor in my collection, even older than my 1870s Ford & Medley.
EDIT: Holy crap, I dug my loupe out, and the "U" definitely looks like it was supposed to be an "O" that has corroded away.
Holy Schneikies. I'm a happy, RAD-afflicted boy.

Thanked: 2Sry for double post. But I pulled up another George Wostenholm frameback on the 'bay, and it has a nearly identical monkey tail.
Looks like the evidence is stacking up.
