Unorthodox Shave
So I've been waiting for a couple weeks now for my DE set to come in and said I wouldn't go back to the cartridge and goo. Unfortunately not shaving for two weeks was starting to grow tiresome (even though I didn't grow to much facial hair). Since I didn't want to go to the cartridge and didn't have my DE or straight yet I decided to shave my face with my electric hair clipper. It wasn't very pleasant and still left quite a bit for stubble but I really didn't want to use the cartridge again.
Have you guys had some unorthodox shaves when a straight or DE was not available?

Thanked: 1195Electric clippers are useful for maintaining the "designer stubble" look, but very little else in the way of shaving. I wouldn't say I've had any unorthodox shaves in lieu of de/straight razor per se, except for resorting to a Bic disposable but that's extremely rare. Although these days using anything other than a straight or DE would likely be considered unorthodox lol
TBH, given the choice I'll usually skip shaving before using a different method.

Hey, I used an electric clipper for 10 years before finding straights! I looked like Don Johnson ! (Miami Vice) The electric shavers and multi blade razors always kept me with ingrown hairs. I gave up and just used the clipppers. The straights have solved that problem 95 %. Still have not tried a DE nor an SE! Saving that!

I used to use clippers exclusively before I found straights. Disposables gave me horrible razor burn and I hated electrics. So I just wore a beard in one length or another for about 5 years. Luckily, I don't look disorderly with stubble.
If you have to use a disposable, the cheap single blade ones are the best, IMO. Maybe I should say the least of all evils?

I guess it's not as unorthodox as I thought. I just figured that people would think that something that was meant for the head would not be appropriate to use for the face. Glad to know I'm not alone.

Hey strong work for sticking to your convictions and and not going back to the throw away and the goo! But, aren't those electric clippers for "manscaping"?

My face is the manliest part of my body. I don't know if that's a good thing though...
