is this razor really from 1860?
    Of course, no.
The razor was made by H.Boker for Hackett Walther Gates Hardware Co. in 1902-1912(I think closer to 1912).
    Located in St.Paul, Minnesota.
Most likely, 1860 is the year of company official registration. The company was founded in 1858, as the C.D.Strong Hardware Company.
The company is still in business under the name: Hackett-Gates-Hurty Co., St.Paul.

P.S. Is it possible to see Boker stamp?

I dont think too many people will give you a value on it. We here are users of the straight, not antiques dealers. It is a beautiful razor, I see you are new so send it off to one of the honemeisters here, and enjoy the shave it gives you upon its return!

i have bought a bunch of wet stones to start honing but i dont want to mess this one up, who do i send it to it is all ready very sharp and i have shaved with it once. I guess I got a deal on it it came in a box of about 20 different razors of diff types for 100 bucks! all over 100 years old. and in original boxes. got to love it. im also a coin collector and i guess that side of me is coming out.

Look in the classifieds for member services. FYI, when it comes to straights, it seems to be more like 100 years young.

I give this advice, but did not heed it myself. Have you already been shaving with a straight? if you have for a while then fine, its prolly great.

If you are new to shaving plan on having it honed 2 times. Once for while you learn, then again in 3 to 6 months after you have some shaving skills. As for the rest of the lot, just set it aside for now. Get the shaving down, and read up on honing. When you send it out the second time, try and hone a decent blade from your lot. you should get your blade back from a pro, and have the one you honed in the other hand. no better way to compare the two. dont forget, honing takes time, tries and experience too.
