Durex Straight Razor??
A friend gave me this razor today. I have not cleaned it. There are couple of small chips in the edge, but it appears to have never been honed. I can't seem to find any info on this razor other than a suggestion that it may be a promotional item from the Durex Condom company? Has anyone seen one before? The gold is a train crossing a trestle. Thanks in advance.

Thanked: 884Never heard of it, but it is a fine looking razor. When you get that edge straightened out it ought to be a good shaver.

Thanks for the reply. A Google search turned up almost nothing. I cleaned it with some Autosol and it is gleaming (except for those flea bites). It has a nice weight to it and the pivot is very tight. I don't think the chips will be a big deal.

I doubt it has anything to do with the condom company. Likely just a acronym of the manufacturers names. Best keep it well lubricated though just in case

I have one of there's. Not as elaborate or pretty as yours, very plain in fact. Took a great edge and gives a good shave.

When you make the lather, better start by adding a few drops of KY to the mix.
