Default About to buy my first used razor and need some tips

So its a Heljestrand that I found online. From the pics, blade looks in good condition, scales might need replacing which is fine. Here is his description:

A vintage C.V. Heljestrand straight razor, Eskilstuna Sweden. The blade is engraved with "Soderfors Extra Specialstal", there is no model number. The scale has a very small nick , but is in good overall condition. The razor opens and closes easily with pins in place. There is a notch in the blade, which I believe is a barbers notch and it is not a nick. Razor is described as best as I can,as I am not an expert nor a dealer.

C.V. Heljestrand and Eskilstuna is engraved on the lower part of the blade by the scale (still not all familiar with straight razor anatomy haha).

Should I stay away from this one gents? $25.00 or best offer.

I think you should pass on it. There is a HUGE chunk (not a barber's notch by a long shot) missing near the heal which will require you or someone with the skill to grind it out. The nice thing about the bay there is always another razor to bid on or BIN. Just my $0.02.
