I have no desire to bid, I just wanted to highlight that it might not be a great idea to point out items you are interested in bidding on to 40,131 other people with the same interests.

Epd...since I've seen a couple of opinions requested posts from you (which is great, btw...way better than not asking!)I thought I would mention there is a really helpful page that tells you what to look for and trusted brands.

It's nice that you have a positive attitude. Since you're pretty new to straights to begin with, many here would recommend to take some time to read the Wiki/Library for razors to avoid. Being new it can be very easy to overlook flaws in some razors on the bay, like excessive hone wear, chips or cracks etc. Take a quick look at these threads for a idea of what I mean:

    http://straightrazorpalace.com/aucti...d-bidders.html

    http://straightrazorpalace.com/aucti...rbers-use.html

These are just 2 examples out of hundreds out there. Until you know what to look for in a bay razor, you may want to stick with the classifieds and vendors here.

Yes, some people make their own, some people repurpose other items. Such as: cigar boxes, test tube racks, barbecide jars, pipe holders, shadow boxes, etc.
